Hello, I'm gonna try blogging again, since now I've got a load of free time on my hands.

SO! HELLO! IT'S THE HOLIDAYS!

School's been killer for the second semester of poly and it's honestly happened so fast that I can't believe I've lived through it. It feels like everything was a dream and I can't remember little fragments of it, and it feels somewhat less substantial than life at present.

Gah, getting too philosophical here.

Well, I'm just glad the first year is over and now there's a break to get away from all the stress, recharge, and refocus for the second year of poly! I'm going on a family holiday to Batam, for relaxation and sea sports and it's gonna be awesome (:

I'm listening to Key-dollar sign-Ha now, her song "Hungover" from Animal is really good, different from what people would expect I guess, but overall her album is pretty good, I like it alot. The music's catchy, the lyrics are funny, and sometimes pretty deep.

I'm just rambling so... BYE!

I love you all <3

Today's my brother's 20th birthday and we had a sweet celebration at home :)
Almost my entire family came over and we had a ball, chatting, playing games on the PS3 and of course, eating. It wouldn't be a proper (pwoper) family celebration without the nom noms.

My brother stepped into adulthood and bid farewell to teen life. I hope he finds adulthood productive and interesting :)
All the photos from the party/gathering/celebration/aniversário celebração are on my facebook, I'm too lazy to upload them, 5 by 5, into this post.

SO, tomorrow, Andrea got called by MTV to attend a live screening of the VMAs at the MTV studios and she invited me along :) Its super cool that they read her blog and follow her tweets, amazing! I'm so glad for her, she's being discovered by the industry that she's interested in :)

And we have to be ready by 7+ am, thats a downer, but they're providing free transport, which is pretty cool so, I'll probably blog bout the experience tomorrow, cause I'll be bringing my laptop and they're providing free wifi :D

Now, if only I could get some animal researchers to discover me, haha ;)

til i find something else interesting,
Vanessa

I thought it was time for a new post/update, so here goes.

In school life: The exams came and went, which I am outrageously grateful for, as I can now enjoy my holidays. Since school began, its been a pretty strange/interesting ride, with new friends, new subjects, new environment.
I am glad to say that I finally find interest in studying what I am studying. As in, I'm glad that I enjoy (some of) my subjects a little.
I'm kinda looking forward to the second semester now that the first one is over,
and I've heard that chemistry will be a little simpler in the second semester.

On a heavier note, the exam results will be released on the 1st of October, Children's Day.
How dreadful. But on a featherweight note, I am hoping for moderation of marks.

In friend/family life: All's well, and things are at the peak. My friends are doing well for themselves, all studying hard, working hard, and playing hard.
This Saturday may hold a pleasant outing with the girls,
to do girly things,
like, shopping.
We stay in touch, whether its through telephonic communication or cyberactively we still speak/comment/text.
My new friends from poly are cool too, different personalities, different experiences, but we all seem to get along just fine, splendidly in some cases even.

In work life: There's not much to say here, I've been tutoring my cousin for her PSLE, which is coming soon.
I'm also to begin working part time for a friend, helping with phone calls and administrative work.
So all's well in the work department too I guess.

Til I find something exciting to blog/rant/rave about,
Vanessa

So, Poly's alright, it's different, like "omg, what the heck am I doing here, I don't know what to do" kind of different. But its quite alright.

Now it's the study break of 2 weeks, and I am pleased to say that it is not going by fast :) I am enjoying everyday in a different way and it has been a real refresher for me. The past months in poly made me yearn for the days in St. Joseph's Convent, and made me appreciate the 5 years I spent in that school :)

The love, laughter and love of the days spent at St. Joseph's cannot be replaced or relived, but I am content to reminisce about the times :)

But it's time to make some new memories in poly and I am so grateful for the opportunity that I was given to enter the course of my choice and I am not going waste it.

Til I find something interesting to blog about,
<3

Imperfect is the New Perfect

Heyo, just thought I'd share this lovely song with the population,
it's a wonderful piece, both lyrically and musically, by Caitlin Crosby.
It's about flaws.
And how we can try to embrace them.
I know it's one of the hardest things to do, but it's not impossible :)
I've learnt to like my small-ish eyes more :)

so here's the song:

And these are the lyrics:

Compare the way my body looks to the magazines
Don't know why everybody's buying into the scene
So I'm gonna drive down the boulevard
Not caring who has a faster car
Tone down the makeup and the noise
'Cause what's inside will bring the boys

I don't wanna look like you because
You're too perfect, too perfect
And I don't want to fill your shoes because
It's not worth it, it's not worth it
I don't fit the mold
I am real
Too colorful to conceal
Imperfect is the new perfect
Imperfect is the new perfect

If skin and bones is the secret to all your happiness
Then pop your pills 'cause the money
is never gonna last
So save the plastic for the toys
Come out your shell, just make a noise
I'm gonna run, I'm gonna live
I'm gonna smile and not fit in
I'm gonna dance, I'm gonna strut
I'll shake my curves and not give a fuck

I don't wanna look like you because
You're too perfect, too perfect
And I don't want to fill your shoes because
It's not worth it, it's not worth it
I don't fit the mold
I am real
Too colorful to conceal
Imperfect is the new perfect
Imperfect is the new perfect

Just dry your eyes, you're beautiful
I understand, it's logical
'Cause these images are everywhere
They'll make believe, so don't compare
I will not compare

We're every shape and size
You know we're just perfect, just perfect
We love our hips, our thighs
Because they're just perfect, just perfect
I don't fit the mold, I am real
I'm too colorful to conceal
Imperfect is the new perfect
Imperfect is the new perfect

I don't wanna look like you because
You're too perfect, too perfect
And I don't want to fill your shoes because
It's not worth it, it's not worth it
I don't fit the mold
I am real
Too colorful to conceal
Imperfect is the new perfect

Imperfect is the new perfect
Imperfect is the new perfect
Imperfect is the new perfect
Imperfect is the new perfect
Imperfect is the new perfect
